If it takes a minimum of 21 days to make a habit I’m giving myself 28 days. In this 4 weeks I’m aiming to make a habit out of healthier living. I’m going to try and follow healthy habits every day, all day. This will mean eating less and exercising more. My hope is that by repeating these habits I will have enforced them enough that they stick. I’m hoping to run a marathon this year and want to be at my best when training.
Food: toasted muffin for breakfast, flapjack for lunch and then a dinner of jacket potato, cheese and beans. Oh and I had some chocolate. Yeah I know chocolate again!
Exercise: it was quite a good day! long dog walk around 5 miles, 5km run in a not to shabby time of 27.30 despite feeling unwell, 10 minuets on the exercise bike, 60 second plank and 100 sit ups.
Promoting good mental health: the weather was beautiful so a run in the park and a stroll in the woods where perfect!
The unhealthy bit: chocolate again. Urgh food is forever my weakness.
Overall: a pretty active and positive day!
So 28 days are over! Only time will tell if these habits stick but I’m feeling a lot more confident with my running and ready to increase my mileage again. I’ve definitely made an effort to be more active even when I don’t want to: which is a positive. I’ve been reminded that it is easy to fit exercise around your day if you priorities it. Even with a busy life. I haven’t eaten as healthily as I would have liked but I’m sure I can work on that one. I suppose the only thing to do now is get out a run some more miles and make the most of this new found confidence! Fingers crossed I keep at it!!!
